Michael Edwards

Michael joined KWC in 2026 as Vice President of Strategic Operations to help oversee the day-to-day execution of the hospitality funds, specifically the Sotherly portfolio.

Before joining KWC Hospitality, Michael served as Vice President of Asset Management with Castlerock Asset Management, where he assisted with acquisitions, dispositions, and capital improvement projects across a portfolio of hotel assets, including the Westin Nashville and Bobby Hotel Nashville. He has spent nearly three decades in hospitality, including 17 years in operations and 13 years in finance. Michael led financial and business operations for prominent hotels, including Gaylord Opryland, JW Marriott Nashville, and JW Marriott San Antonio—where he was also part of the opening teams. Michael’s experience spans multiple markets, including Dallas, San Antonio, Seattle, San Diego, and Nashville, and covers a range of assets from luxury resorts and full-service hotels to waterparks.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Michael holds an MBA from Texas State University and a BS in Psychology from Texas A&M University.

Michael, his wife Karen, and their two children live in Nolensville, TN.
