Kem Wilson, III

Kemmons ‘Kem’ Wilson, III joined KWC in 2005 as a Principal. He currently serves as President and Managing Partner of Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners leading our branding, marketing, and fundraising efforts while also serving on the investment committee.

After college first grew his investment experience as a research analyst for Alternative Investment Solutions, a hedge fund of funds, then as a financial analyst for Consulting Services Group, an investment consulting firm.  He then made a deliberate decision to spend a couple years in Jackson, WY where he gained invaluable life lessons as a Direct Support Professional at Community Entry Servies, an organization providing lifelong, comprehensive support and services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries.

Initially Kem’s primary focus at KWC was on individual marketable securities portfolios for the family and a selection of Wilson-related corporate & charitable entities. With over 22 years of investment experience, Kem’s expertise in private equity initiatives and hospitality investment opportunities is instrumental throughout the KWC portfolio.

Kem currently serves on the corporate Boards of Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners and Peak + Energy Solutions. He is also civic-minded and serves on the Board of The Christian Community Foundation as well as on the Board of Trustees at Furman University where he is Chairman of the Investment Committee.

Kem holds a BA in Business Administration from Furman University, a Master of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University, and an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
